FAITH: The Light of Rembrandt (take 3)

I continue to be intrigued by Rembrandt’s painting that I talked about in my last post (see below). Consider what this picture tells us if we look at it from the perspective that the canvas is us.
Will people accept us? Will they like how we look? Do we stand back and let God paint into our lives, or do we let fear drive us to the point where we try and “help” God out?
Look how we stand ready to help God out. We wonder if we can trust what He will do.
And yet, His light shines on our canvas. Even before we touch the canvas, His light is shining out of our lives. All we need to do is trust Him to complete His work in us.
But this is harder than it might appear — for we are so anxious about how we will look, and how things will turn out — but it helps a lot if we see His light glowing in and on our lives.
Are you able to stand back and see what God will paint in your life? Or are you compelled to step in and help God out?
