… at denial (fingers in ears, eyes squeezed shut, chanting “LA LA LA LA”), the Christmas season has come. Sigh.

Yesterday I went to Trader Joe’s, and I must say, Christmas season has not just come, it is being violently thrust upon us, into all of our senses, numbing us into a stupor so that we can count no more the bills that leave our valets. You have to give it to TJ’s, though; the music that was soothingly blaring inside the store was designed to give respite from the 100 db megaphones blasting kitch songs across the parking lot and into the adjacent luxury apartment complexes.

I call it the “season of clutter.” And as much as I pretend to be a scrooge, I enjoy the general festivities. Especially, as Gordon said, Advent.
