I have heard the charge of “Theocracy!” so often that the threat is beginning to lose its punch; it’s possible that we could miss it when a genuine example occurs. Vide Mike Huckabee:
“[Some of my opponents] do not want to change the Constitution, but I believe it’s a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living God, and that’s what we need to do is to amend the Constitution so it’s in God’s standards rather than try to change God’s standards.”

Yowie, that’s scary. Scary because it is so myopic and short sighted. And in my mind, ridiculous. Mike, who will define God’s standards? You? Even Christians can’t agree on what they are.
