A Different Street

Birdine, long ago attracted to the green Model A Ford coupe in front of the theater, remained big on convertibles the rest of her life. She didn’t care what kind of car she drove, as long as the top went up and down. She once had a red Jeep. Art later bought her a blue 1968 Corvette, a T-top, for Christmas. This was her treasure. And she liked speed. When she took it in for repairs, the soft-spoken, sedate, genteel soul blew everyone away when she complained, “It shimmies at 100 miles per hour.”

Haha! I like Birdine’s style.
