If you are wondering about the teasing potential of the name you are considering for your new little bundle of joy, may I suggest running it by a class of third-graders first?
This morning my kid’s teacher announced to the class that one of the other teachers had had her baby and named him “Jacoby,” pronounced “juh-KO-bee.” Laughter erupted instantly around the room, including shouts of “Jacuzzi!” and “Bon Jovi!” Poor baby!

It is also important to carefully consider baby’s initials. I used to work for a person who’s last name began with “G”. When she was expecting she went through many options to avoid initials that spelled out embarrassing things like BUG, FAG, BAG etc.
