On the heels of the hot mommy/celebrity pregnancy/MILF fad comes this quote from a press release, from Suzie blogging at Echidne of the Snakes:
It is nearly impossible to hide a plastic surgery transformation from your children. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer takes this contentious topic head on with a new children’s book, “My Beautiful Mommy,” to be released nationwide this Mother’s Day on May 11th – there is no book like this out there. This book is designed to celebrate beauty and to explain to your child what to expect when a parent undergoes plastic surgery - from the initial consultation to the final result. For children ages 4 to 7.
On Mother’s Day! The mind reels.

Is this one of those flow chart adventure game kind of books, if this, go to page xx?? No I suppose not. I hope they airbrushed the recovery room photos, nothing like some heavy duty bruising to make one wonder. Reels is not quite a word for my cynical mind, resets the standard for appalling might work though. …I can actually visualize a pleasant , mother child bonding kind of story, I think we called them fairy tales in my youth.

I don’t know whether to laugh, cry or throw up. I would love to comment further, but for once in my life, I am utterly without words.
