My older child leaves tomorrow morning for three nights at Outdoor School, which will triple the longest time we’ve ever been separated. I know, this is just the first of many little suction cups on my octopus arms popping off, but it still stings a bit.

Sort of like open heart surgery with no anesthesia, isn’t it?? My Dear Daughter has gone off on various jaunts several times this year. A two-week trip with Wonderful Boyfriend’s family is around the corner. I wonder if it ever gets any easier? I doubt it.

I like the visual phrase, perhaps a sticky note like cartoon character with as you say, “the little suction cups popping off” Must be dozens of situationals where it would apply besides children, friends, books, parents, organizations, politicians, tv shows.. brain cells. ..Ouch another sucker cup gone.
On the trivia front, did you know that many squid and octopus’s have the ability to change their colors, even to do plaids.
