I myself happen to love cilantro, but this still made me laugh: a page of haikus devoted to despising it.
I once had a hilarious lunchtime conversation about food preferences with some fellow geeks (we ended up drawing a chart, of which one column was labeled “Contaminants”; several people placed cilantro in that column) which led me to formulate a theory that most people like either cilantro or licorice/anise, but rarely both (or neither).

Not a big cilantro fan. It became a trendy addition to salsa (if you ask me) about 20 years ago. Maybe 25. Before that I didn’t notice it as much. I just think it gets overdone.

I like just about any kind of strong-tasting spice and/or herb, especially really spicy ones. Gotta admit, I’m not a huge fan of anise, although I don’t hate it.
