Too many evangelicals and religious conservatives are too preoccupied with values and faith and pay no attention to competence. We don’t apply this approach to anything else in life, including choosing a pastor.

  1. Of course there is the continual trinity of political competence, fund raising, politics (with all the compromise, untruth and evasion that requires) and generally last and least, taking care of the publics business while considering ethics and goods like freedom.
